Welcome series
The moment someone subscribes is when they are most interested in your store. A welcome flow thanks them, introduces your brand and gives them a reason to place their first order.

Before you start
- Subscribers come from your Uppush popups and from visitors who allow web push notifications. Set up a popup first — see Popups customization guide.
- Customers who subscribe somewhere else (for example at Shopify checkout) do not start the welcome flow by default. Contact support if you want to include them.
- Available on every plan, including Free.
Set it up
- Go to Flows and click New flow.
- Under Nurture subscribers, choose Welcome series · Standard and click Use this template.
- Review the messages and the discount, then click Save.
- Click Turn on.
New stores already have this flow as a draft — open it from the Flows page and turn it on.
How the standard template works
| When | What is sent |
|---|---|
| Right after subscribing | Push, then email 10 minutes later, with a first‑order discount |
| 2 hours later | Push and email introducing your store |
| 2 days later | Push and email reminding them of the discount |
- Trigger: Customer subscribed.
- Exit when: the subscriber places an order.
- Re‑entry: only once per customer.
Web push and email sign‑ups are separate
A visitor can allow web push notifications and also give their email. Each sign‑up starts its own run: the web push run sends only the push steps, the email run sends only the email steps. So nobody receives the same message twice.
Use the popup's discount
If your popup promises a discount, you can give subscribers exactly that one:
- Click Discount at the top of the builder (or open a single push or email step).
- Choose Popup discount.
The customer then receives the discount of the popup they subscribed through. For emails, the template must contain a Discount block. See How to set up discount codes.
Other versions
- Customer vs. non‑customer — subscribers who have already bought get one welcome message; everyone else gets the full series with a discount.
- Single message with offer — one push and one email with a first‑order discount.
Good to know
- To protect your sender reputation, the number of welcome emails per day has a limit. Contact support if your store needs more.
